SEA-TAC Airport, sunrise, July 14th, Step 1 on my journey. I woke up 10 minutes before my alarm was set to go off- incredible how our internal alarm clocks are always running in our subconscious! A quick shower and a cup of strong cup of java were all I needed to get me fully awake after only a couple hours of sleep. I walked out into the back yard to gather my thoughts and focus my attention before embarking on this long adventure into a whole new world, looked up at a dark sky full of twinkling stars and wished upon them to guide me, to keep me safe, and prayed for two weeks of wise decisions, safe travels and unforgettable experiences.
As I stood in the long, snaking line to get through security, the reality of my journey began to set in. What suddenly struck me over the head was the fact that for the next two weeks, every face I will see - starting this morning - will be that of a stranger. I'm leaving the familiarity of the known into a world of the complete unknown....an odd but intriguing concept to chew on at this ungodly time of day.
The plane is boarding. My butterflies are fluttering. Thank goodness for free WiFi!@! Away I fly now.....
